Employer of Record in Spain
Hire, pay and manage employees in Spain without setting up a local entity. We become the legal employer — you keep full control of the day-to-day work.
Talk to an Expert
Opening a Spanish subsidiary takes months and creates permanent legal, tax and accounting obligations. With DNGlobalEx as your Employer of Record (EOR), your team member is hired under our Spanish entity with a fully compliant local contract, while working exclusively for you.
We are Spain specialists, not a global platform. That means deep knowledge of Spanish labor law, collective bargaining agreements, social security and immigration — and one partner that connects employment with relocation and residence permits when your talent needs to move to Spain.
When an EOR in Spain makes sense
- Your first hires in Spain, before an entity is justified
- A candidate in Spain — or moving there — and no local structure to employ them
- Converting a contractor in Spain into a compliant employee
- A hire who needs a work permit: employment and immigration as one case
- HR and finance teams that want Spanish payroll and compliance off their plate
Why use an EOR in Spain
Start in days, not months
Skip company incorporation, tax registrations and bank accounts. Your hire can be on a compliant Spanish contract within days.
Full legal compliance
Contracts, working time, collective agreements, terminations and data protection handled under Spanish labor law — with no misclassification risk.
Payroll and benefits included
Monthly payroll, income tax withholding, social security contributions and statutory benefits, delivered on time with a single monthly invoice.
Employment + mobility connected
If your candidate needs a visa, work permit or the Beckham Law tax regime, we manage it as part of the same case — not as a separate product.

EOR vs hiring a contractor in Spain
| Employee via EOR | Contractor (autónomo) | |
|---|---|---|
| Legal status | Employment contract under Spanish labor law | Commercial relationship — must be genuinely independent |
| Misclassification risk | None — proper employment | High if they work like an employee (falso autónomo) |
| Social security | Employer contributions handled by us | Paid by the contractor themselves |
| IP and confidentiality | Assigned through the employment contract | Depends on each service agreement |
| Direction and exclusivity | Standard — you direct the work | Cannot be directed or exclusive without risk |
| Inspection exposure | Compliant by design | Fines plus back social security if reclassified |
Frequently asked questions
Who is the legal employer? +
DNGlobalEx employs your team member through our Spanish entity and assumes the employer obligations. You direct their daily work and they function as part of your team.
How much does it cost to employ someone in Spain? +
On top of gross salary, employer social security contributions in Spain are roughly 30–32% of salary (subject to caps and the applicable collective agreement). We provide a precise total-cost calculation before you commit.
Can we convert a contractor into an employee? +
Yes. Contractor-to-employee conversion is one of the most common cases we handle, and it removes the permanent-establishment and misclassification risk of long-term contractor arrangements in Spain.
What if we later open our own Spanish entity? +
We support the transition: employees can be transferred from our EOR to your new entity while preserving seniority and terms.
How long does onboarding take? +
If the candidate already has the right to work in Spain, days: contract drafting, social security registration and payroll setup typically complete within a week. If a permit is needed, we run immigration and employment in parallel so no time is lost.
What is included in the monthly fee? +
Legal employment and contract, payroll processing, income tax withholding, social security filings, statutory benefits administration, HR support for the employee and ongoing compliance monitoring — one itemized invoice: salary costs plus our fee.
Do EOR employees get full Spanish employment rights? +
Yes — identical to any Spanish employee: the applicable collective agreement, paid vacation, sick leave, severance rules and social security coverage. The EOR model changes who administers the employment, not the employee’s rights.
